Greg Speichert is known for his water gardening expertise. He and his wife, Sue, previously owned and operated a groundbreaking nursery in Indiana, U.S., that helped to popularize water garden plants, and have written numerous articles on the topic. He speaks frequently on how to grow, identify and garden with water plants, perennials and tropical plants for numerous organizations and events, including the American Association of Botanical Gardens and Arboreta, the Perennial Plant Association and the International Waterlily and Water Gardening Society.

Greg is now director of Hilltop Garden and Nature Center, a program of the Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Studies at Indiana University.

Greg has introduced more than 300 new hardy and tropical marginals and more than 100 new native water plants to the water gardening industry, and maintained the largest collection of hardy waterlilies in the United States with more than 300 cultivars represented.

In his free time Greg enjoys cooking and entertaining, rescuing silky terriers, and bonsai.
